by ManTownJohn Owosso, MI My
friends and I created this man space, referred to as "mantown", from
an old grain storage building located on my father's farm in Owosso,
MI.
Mantown began with the installation of the propane furnace but after
several mantown "meetings" in the empty, uninsulated building, plans
were started to make some improvements. 2yrs later, mantown is nearly
complete with a front door, insulated ceiling and walls, mini frig,
hunting video library, numerous trophy mounts, saltellite TV,
recliners, futon, and, of course, a giant Michigan State Block S on
the ceiling because this is Spartan country.
Mantown meetings usually coincide with the opening days of Michigan's
hunting seasons or Michigan State sporting events. Last year T-shirts
were passed out to all members to launch a successful turkey season
(see pic).
The only requirements for membership are bringing an occasional 6 pack
and knowing how to boil a deer skull. |
